Falcon MKII - SMG

For this project I went back to my roots.
From day 1 I was basically only modeling guns, after I got tired of that I went to environments and now that has become my "brand".
But having done 3 massive environments I thought it was time to make another gun as I was kind of burned out on environment art.
Mostly because making an environment takes months if not years of work, it was really refreshing doing a single hero prop as it obviously was made in a way shorter period of time (even with my illness still holding me back).

As always I did all the designing my self and I am really proud of how this one has turned out with my current skillset!
This was also a learning project in terms of texturing as I wanted to level up my texturing skills as basically everyone in the industry these days can texture photorealistic and I felt I was being left behind, so this is my attempt at a more photorealistic style of texturing.

The magazines have no spring in them cause of the -45 degree angle.
Also the gun uses armor piercing rounds.
And its a sci-fi double barrel SMG.

I also did not make a highpoly this time around and only used the new Marmoset Toolbag bevel shader.
I am so happy this exists cause it cut so many hours of development time and the result is just as good as making a highpoly!

The base gun uses a 4k texture and the attachments are split up in two and so are using 2x 2k texture maps.

I also used a lot of real reference I have at home for modeling this piece which was so much easier then getting ref from the web.
For example I have at home the Elbit Falcon MKI scope and also a MP5 Railclaw.
I hope to maybe do an article on this one to further show and explain all the ways I used this real-life reference.

I also made the background my self by combining 3d and 2d.
